In the video, as noted in the caption, chief designer and head of the Baltic engineering company Sergey Tereshenkov talks about the purpose of the “Blackbird”. According to him, the car can be especially useful to power structures and in landing.
In August, The Drive was struck by the unusual appearance of the product, which is to be presented at the international military-technical forum “Army-2020”. The American publication assessed the appearance of the car as exotic, but doubted that the Russian military would show interest in it.
According to the Drive, “Blackbird” looks like “something out of a James bond movie.”
According to Mil. Press FLOT, the Drozd amphibious vehicle was created by the Baltic engineering company based on the universal modular amphibious platform of the same name. The prototype, currently undergoing testing, can reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour on water and up to 100 kilometers per hour on land. A distinctive feature of the product is the retractable wheels, which allow to increase seaworthiness and provide planing.
